Wanted to answer what Rooster had to say
My one issue with McElroy is that if it's an uneven matchup he tends to overhype the SEC teams accomplishments against obviously inferior opponents. He was beyond ridiculous making the A&M defense to be able to stop anyone at anytime. I will take A&M being acknowledged for an average defense that's getting better.
He's knowledgable, yes. Once he gets more comfortable with how he uses that knowledge he's going to be very strong inside the booth. Overall, he's good now and getting better.

As long as he keeps saying the phrase "for this reason" every other sentence, he ain't going anywhere.

He first impressed me when he was at the Au/Oregon NC game and had a spot. He was fluid and knowledgeable. He's adapting quickly to the nuances for this to be only his 4th week on the air. He will have a long career and be one of the better ones for a long time to come, imo.

From what little I saw this AM, I have to agree. The dude is good and can convey his thoughts in an easy to understand manner.

He's painful to listen to. Which is pretty much true for everybody on SECN.

He tries to over explain his thoughts at times, but he's doing great for a former player with limited broadcast experience. I'm sure he'll get better. Brings more substantive content than Tebow and a lot of other ex jocks.

He is one of the better newcomers for sure. He needs some polishing, but in time I can see him being a top analyst/commentator.
