ok...here goes:

1) First and foremost a gameball for Kyle Christy, who performed like he did in 2012 with awesome punts. If anyone watches closely like I do during a game...don't let special teams play escape you. We started out with poor field position almost the entire first half and that's one reason for the lack of offense..I counted at least two possessions starting at trhe 10 yd line and one at the 14 yd line. Odds of long drives keep you from end zones usually. Conversely, we did the same thing to UK because of Christys punts.

Secondly, UK is for real....their team speed shocked me overall...Im used to seeing slower fatter UK players that don't have the quickness to stack up in the SEC...that's not the case now. Their qb is going to be hard to deal with for a few teams...their wrs were very good and that one guy ..I think his name is Garrett Johnson? He is a gamebreaker. Their OL couldnt run block but gave just enough time to have Towles get passes off...usually with Fowler draped on him. If UK would have had power run game combined with their passing last night we would have lost.
Thirdly, we had breakdowns in the secondary but our pass rush was fierce and our run defense was top shelf....we have a lot of speed.
Fourth, on offense we sputtered some and again the first half had poor field position affect us a lot. Credit UKs special teams...we didn't get a SINGLE YARD in returns from kicks/punts. Remember when UK score a TD on long pass play but their other wr committed a personal that was marked off on kickoff? We started possession near midfield and scored...short fields are the offenses dream.

Lets reflect on a few things...our team didn't take UK lightly and I saw complete effort the whole game. Dante Fowler rarely came out even though he was relentlessly rushing the passer. He is in excellent shape.

Our wr corp is mixed...but # 11 is a stud. Bama? Why do folks think they are special? I don't. We will go up to BDS and come back with a W...until proven otherwise and I firmly believe it. Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor can tote the mail and we have passing attack to keep Bama guessing. Remember that our OL was missing a starter and we have a week to work on it. Our defense is very hard to run on. Duke Dawson made critical error in coverage but he is a true frosh and will learn from the best defensive minds in the country.
Our team will focus this week and there are a lot of teach opportunities...but we are 2-0.

I agree with this big time. Really made some crucial punts, and no doubt he'll have to be big all year.

That, but also have to give their staff credit to change the mentality there. Certainly Stoops' recruiting is part of that. They definitely Proved me wrong last night. Also, I like Towles a lot.

I don't think we get the W, but I do think we hang in there with them.

I agree with everything you said but would have liked to see more pressure on the QB. I don't beleive there was a singe sack last night. For such a highly touted defense they need to persue the quarterback much more.

You and I watched different games...we rushed Towles constantly but you cant blitz and put six men on it more than a few times a game or you will see the azz end of wrs as they go into the end zone on you. We got pressure with four men and once in a while we brought five and we also sent # 20 Maye on safety blitz once...but again..you cant do it very often or you will need butter for all that toast.
