Actually Toledo has had some pretty good upsets over the years playing the traditional big boys.
This was scheduled before our move to SEC. I think mostly due to HCGP having coached at Toledo before his move to Mizzou. I also think the exposure in Ohio can't hurt. Toledo played in Columbia last year.

I'm familiar with Miami-Ohio's upsets over the years -- and yes,one was in Baton Rouge in 1986. Can you provide some of Toledo's?

Yes. Checking out the lay of the land when they jump to the MAC.

That is a 2 for 1 in an important recruiting destination. From what I understand Mizzou gave them a 1 and 1 like they are some sort of respectable program.
So the real answer is:

Then they were all, "Ok, and you bring some mustard when you come over."
So we're bringing mustard on Saturday.
You had me till this part. Folks know you are mayo people and Toledo probably uses Miracle Whip.

that one makes some sense. SMU has some history as a big time program and I'm sure there are a lot of Aggies in the "Metroplex".
Probably same logic Aggy used for scheduling a game in Shreveport.

Didn't Florida play @ Toledo?

I have a feeling it goes something like this.

Our schedule was F'd up during the conference switch.
Our AD said today that there will be no more road games vs non power 5 schools. Thankfully.

So, the Arkansas game is a home game every year?

By "a few," you mean 10. Yup.

Is it some type of 5 for 1 deal or are there some inordinate amount of Missouri players from Toledo playing back home like some teams do in basketball? Other than Vandy I don't recall any SEC teams playing a football road game at a MAC school.
Have to fill the schedule. Also add in the fact that the annual Mizzou vs Illinois series got cancelled too(don't know the reason behind that). That was a neutral site game in STL.

Arkansas will play Toledo next year. I'm guessing Toledo has been wanting to schedule SEC opponents.

Illinois got tired of losing it and I think it was hurting recruiting the metro STL area.

We played at SMU in 2012 also and this is the 4th straight year we are playing them.
The only way for that to be kind of right is if the 2005 game was part of a 3-2 deal.
