Or is it only the last poll? Who in the blue hell ranked LSU #1 and how has their vote not already been revoked?

You say this like any vote matters at this point. Both Auburn and LSU have a schedule in front of them that will warrant attention if they perform well.

A first place LSU vote at this point is not warranted, but it it no crazier than the false excitement generated around ATMs throttling of what will turn out to be an extremely mediocre Gamecocks team in week 1 of the season.

LSU had the highest ranked nonconference win. That's not a great basis for picking #1, but it's probably as good as basing it all off one game, or leaving everybody listed according to preseason polls.
Any ranking right now is silly, and people who now think they know the best teams after week 1 are ridiculous. The only people more ridiculous are the people who think they knew the best teams BEFORE week 1.
