If Sims is our guy to start the season I just don't think you can NOT play Coker. Sims for all his positives is limited in what he can do with his arm, nobody denies that. That can make Alabama predictable, which always leads to us not being able to score. I think you have to prepare Coker to play because at some point we will have to stretch the field and I don't think Sims can do it well. (I would LOVE to be proven wrong here)

I don't know what Sims can and can't do with his arm. We'll all have a better idea in a few days. I don't think he's as bad as people think though. If he were, I think he would've been passed by Morris and/or Bateman by now.

I'm tired of trying to guess what Saban is doing. He's a master of psychology. Everything he does and says is for a reason, but it may not be for the reason he says. I think he expects Coker to be the eventual QB. I'm just going to shut up and watch from this point on.

My hope is that Sims has made some quantum leap at being a QB. He has to be more than what he has shown in the past. My hope for Coker is that its simply a time issue and as he develops familiarity with the program, he'll live up to his potential.

The balancing act the coaching staff has is that you have to give both time to develop on the field while also giving one of them enough time to prove they can lead the team..

I think you are thinking about it too hard. I believe that it's a legit competition where no one has separated themself yet. I have no reason to believe otherwise.
