Only 8 coaches, at their current schools, have winning records against Top 25 competition.

eta - Half of them are SEC coaches:

Saban
Malzahn
Miles
Richt

I counted 11, but I did it really quick so may be wrong.

Also, while interesting stats, it is important to remember that lists like these treat a number 1 team the equivalent of a number 25 team. So, arriving at too many conclusions based on stats like these can be foolish, imo.

Malzahn * for only 1 year.

Stay in the top 3 for 5 years and come back with this thread.

I can certainly see why so many Aggies think Art Briles would have been such a superior hire for Arkansas.

OP has a red x for me.

Im not getting on you just making an observation.

Miles, Saban, and Richt have done it for well over a decade.

Plus they are the only three over 50% that have done it for a long time.

This is old and should be ignored for not using EOY rankings.

Based on this chart, Southern Cal hiring Sarkisian was a ridiculous move. I thought that at the time, but wow. 8-18 and getting a big promotion is risky as hell.
