Top 10
Jameis Winston (QB Florida State) 9/2
Marcus Mariota (QB Oregon) 5/1
Brett Hundley (QB UCLA) 10/1
Bryce Petty (QB Baylor) 12/1
Melvin Gordon (RB Wisconsin) 12/1
Nick Marshall (QB Auburn) 12/1
Todd Gurley (RB Georgia) 14/1
Trevor Knight (QB Oklahoma) 18/1
Derrick Henry (RB Alabama) 20/1
Everett Golson (Notre Dame) 20/1

2013 Stats
Comp Att Yds TDs Rush Yds TDs
Jameis Winston 257 384 4057 40 88 219 4
Marcus Mariota 245 386 3665 31 96 715 9
Brett Hundley 248 369 3071 24 160 748 11
Bryce Petty 250 403 4200 32 94 209 14
Melvin Gordon 206 1609 12
Nick Marshall 142 239 1976 14 172 1068 12

Last year Marshall completed approximately 60% (59.4) of his passes. It's been documented that Lashlee wants to see between 65 and 70%.

2013 Cmp%
Winston - 66.9
Mariota - 63.5
Hundley - 67.2
Petty - 62.0

Marshall certainly had the fewest number of attempts of any of the QBs in front of him. With a VERY talented receiving corps, and his off season work, his number of attempts and cmp% should certainly go up.

Random thoughts:
After a quick glance it appears Alabama leads the preseason Heisman odds with a total of three players - Henry, Yeldon and Coker (even though Saban hasn't announced their starting QB)

I wonder if Marshall's incident this summer would prevent voters casting their ballots for him, but if that's the case you have to throw
Winston out. After the alleged sexual assault and crab legs, he's certainly no boy scout and looking objectively I think he is more of a lightening rod than Marshall.

I would assume that winning back-to-back Heisman's is more difficult than winning back-to-back NCs.

Not really sure how Gordon has 12/1 odds based on last year's stats. I understand a lot of it is based on projected performance this year. Looking at Wisconsin's schedule, it's going to be a cake walk for them.

I'd put my money on Jameis+ the field over that list of candidates. If Marshall goes in and wins @UGA and @Alabama with great numbers then maybe. Gurley has to split carries and is proven in the past he's injury prone. Derrick Henry will be splitting carries with both Yeldon and Drake so I don't see him as a realistic option.

Winston and the field please

No way Jameis wins again. Look at JFF, better numbers last year than his Heisman year but his off field issues took a toll. Same with crablegs this year IMO.

It's unlikely to repeat. Voters just don't want to vote for you a second time I guess
