J.Will- More of our Bruiser/All around back. Go to guy in third and short and goal line situations. Will have the lowest YPC of the 3 but the highest amount of carries imo.

A.Collin- I'm a little confused on what to expect from him since he has beefed up. Thinking will try to run over more people than last year but still have his shiftiness. 2nd in YPC and carries of the 3.

K.Marshall- Our home run hitter. 2nd-3rd first down back in drives after the D has worn down a little and late game back. Expecting more of the outside running attack from him for large gains to gash tired D's. Less carries than J.Will and Collins but a higher YPC.

Can't add anything to that other than J Will will also be our top receiver out of the backfield.

I wonder if we'll use Kody Walker in a similar way we used Kiero last year. I thought we did a good job getting him the ball in different ways every now and then but not overdoing it

That's the expected way they will pan out

I actually think K Marshall will do better than JWill and Collins. JWill will be second and Collins third after he has a sophomore slump.

yup. barring injury of course. KM is gonna bust onto the scene. I've not seen Alex running around Fayetteville in the heat like I did last summer. It's been an awesome mild summer here. It's not hit 100 yet with less than a handful of days up around 95. We've gotten good rain, our hay fields are still green and growing, should get 3 solid cuttings.

I'm not coming off my stance that KM will be All-SEC.

JWill is the best back that we have, somehow Chaney has to get that Wheel route back into the offense. They ran it a couple times and threw it to Alex, but JWill has better wheels and hands than Alex. KM is just lightning as many creative ways they can find to get him the ball is better for the whole team. There's a lot of misdirection and play action we can utilize with him that they didn't even try last season that can open up the passing game and confuse linebackers that seemed to have a good read on what we were doing.

The wheel route from the gun with Marshall would be money. Marshall in the open field matched up against a linebacker? Yes plz

ETA: and I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Collins' hands. That catch (on a wheel route) in the Florida game while he was pressed against the sideline and covered was very nice.

Anyone know his weight now? I know he was looking bigger back in the early spring, but he could easily be back in shape by now.

So he's probably added 10 pounds or so. Hopefully it doesn't slow him down.

Watching that video gets ya pumped. Those OL were decimating front 7's and creating gaps that our RB's would annihilate

Y'all aren't expecting Collins to have a breakout year? He is the prototypical Bielema running back.

It's not so much that we're down on Collins. It's just that the entire country outside of Arkansas is severely underestimating and overlooking Williams and especially Marshall. Collins is the sexy name right now because he was the 5 star and he was SEC freshman of the year and an All American but he was 3rd last year in YPC for us. I realize it was Collins' true freshman year but Williams was much better after contact while Collins would usually go down at first contact.

At the end of the day, everybody has their strengths. Collins is the really shifty guy with great vision (the best of the 3) and a stupid quick first step. He hits the hole as fast as anyone and reaches top speed pretty much immediately but his top speed isn't elite.

Williams is the "power" back that will punish anyone that tries to touch him but he's way more than that. He is also very elusive for a guy his size and has really good top end speed. He's just not as quick as Collins.

Marshall is the freak athlete and definitely the most talented physically of the 3. He's also the most raw at the position. 6'0 205 and can outrun DBs with ease. Not just a straight line guy he's probably got close to the elusiveness that Williams has and decent power still. He's the wildcard of the group as he is the least experienced. He's lightning though. Watch these.
