I made a thread on the SECr a little bit ago about LSU's plan to stop their players from stealing bikes, which was created by an lsu person and can be found on this link.

https://sustainability.lsu.edu/Education/Service%20Learning/Horticulture/item41712.pdf

That thread was deleted in 30 minutes, even though it had mostly positive up votes.

I can understand that. The positive upvotes were because it was funny to associate it with LSU players being crooks. It was deleted because it doesn't have anything to do with football players at all.

Just look at the rant. What other threads could you apply that to and it's not deleted?

It's because LSU was the joke in this situation.

Just going from the first page, because it doesn't really require a thorough search, none? Every thread has some direct tie either back to SEC sports or posting on the this SEC board. The one I could see as being a bit of a stretch is the Alabama fan complaining that no one will read his diatribes in full. CIYE's thread had nothing to do with SEC sports, but was tangentially directed there as a means to the funny (which I totally respect, BTW).

I'm definitely not disagreeing that it was silly to nix the thread, and of course there are other pointless threads that are in the same ballpark that get past the PTB... I was just saying that it's understandable why it was done away with.

ETA-- And, of course, as I'm typing all that up Tyler brings us this gem to completely throw that out the window...

My thread on there had everything to do with LSU football. They have a problem with players stealing bikes. They had a program suggested by LSU faculty and students to start a program to share bikes. There was an lsu problem and an lsu solution, I made a thread to combine them both. It was whacked b/c it put lsu in a tongue in cheek negative light, even though it wasn't a bad troll thread, nothing near anything I've done.

If this was an SEC site, and this story was about uga, I would bet my entire net wealth that the thread wouldn't have been deleted. I'm still just having a little fun, and poking fun at it in this thread, if I was really upset about it, I wouldn't post on this site anymore.

It's just funny that this site looks like an SEC site "secrant" and all, but really, it's just an extension of tigerdroppings.com.

There's no doubt the SECr is LSU oriented in that regard.

I once made a thread claiming SCAR baseball was almost as good as LSU's, and that SCAR actually had some better runs, some better streaks, some better records than LSU ... I think I titled-it "No one comes close but LSU."

LSU fans lined-up to rail on the claim, downvoted, etc., and I was given a time-out the next day.

As the Christians in ISIS controlled territory say, "either convert or pay the taxes or get the hell outta dodge."

We accept the SECr for what it is, and it is still the best SEC forum on the Internet IMHO.
