What we really need to do is get some booster who is a lawyer to run interference for these football players and get across to CSPD that if you mess with one of Sumlin's players you will be filling our more paperwork and be forced to show up in court more times than you ever dreamed possible.

FIFY

Make it hell for them and they will stop.

More time in court...the cops then say "more overtime, because I was in court"

Yep. Cops love it when they get subpoenas for court on their days off. Overtime

Yeah even a booster superlawyer doesn't really have the capacity to make a cop's life hell. In practice a ton of of Class Cs just get dismissed when any schmoe lawyer shows up. "You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride."

If we're theorycrafting sleaze you'd be better off hooking up some CSPD chiefs with one of those new luxury boxes we're constructing.

Sorry I wasn't trying to advocate for outright sleaze, in fact that is the kind of support that can get a lot of programs in trouble. I just think what happened in this case (completely formulated from baseless rumors I have heard I admit) was BS.

All that needs to get across is the point these aren't defenseless boys. In my experience with CSPD, that was often enough to make them move on to lower-hanging fruit.

Goes back to my question in the other thread about the Big 5 pushing for dedicated athletic dorms to make a return. To me the NCAA made a very big mistake with that rule. Put 'em in the same dorm and lock their dumb asses down the first two years, sez me.

That's just an apartment complex, right? What would that solve? They'll just find another, and in any case it isn't an apartment complex's job to supervise tenants.

Cain Hall, sez me. Mandatory for 2 years and no traipsing out at dark to raise hell. Worked for all us old fart CT's. It'll work for the football team, too. Indeed it DID work for them before your time. All it needs is the Big 5 pushing it, in their new push for "autonomy".
