I have a pinched nerve in my upper back, right shoulder blade area. Hurts like hell and I am in need of stretching suggestions.

Ibuprofen, four at a time. Have done that and there is nothing to do, worse part is that there is no comfortable position to ease the pain either. Between the blades is also bad. Good luck and hope you feel better park.

run

I have two compressed vertebres between my shoulders. free hanging on a pull-up bar then running is the only answer.

I got one of those and was planning on running this afternoon.

Thanks, I give it a shot.

No lie, I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now. Nothing I've tried has really helped. Mine is at the top of my right shoulder blade.

You can run farther on one as well, so there's that..

Don't be surprised if you have a few numb / hot spots on your thigh where your skin has a different posture than the rest of your leg..

I've suffered with this as a result of a bulging disc due to a football injury for nearly 20 years. The pain became chronic several years ago in my left upper shoulder blade. My Dr. prescribed Cymbalta to treat it like Fibromyalgia, and I kid you not the pain has all but disappeared. If and when I stop taking the RX it does return. Talk to your doctor about this option. Good luck.

I'm not familiar with pinched nerve exercises but I just wanted to drop by and say that I hope you make a full recovery if possible.

If you can find one of those inverting tables, if you know what I'm talking about, they work pretty well. My dad has like chronic pinched nerve shite (medical term) and he had to buy one bc they help so much.

Stretching wont do much if it's truly a pinched nerve. Your nerves are being compressed as they leave the spinal cord, you need to see a doctor.

Time and limiting the stress you put on the area is the Rx.

I'd hold off on the doc visit until you give some rest and time a chance to work.

If you can, take an epsom salt bath the next couple nights.

Yea, basically body weight traction. Works wonders.
