TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Rolando McClain's comeback to the NFL is over. He's walking away from football for a second time, according to a report Monday from ESPN's Seth Wickersham.
"I gotta follow my heart. It ain't football. If football made me complete I would play. But whenever I think of it my heart pulls me away from whatever reason. ... This means I'm done," McClain told Wickersham, a writer for ESPN the Magazine, in a text message.
Shortly after the news broke, the former Alabama linebacker alluded to his decision with multiple posts to his Twitter account. He also re-Tweeted a link to Wickersham's story.

My heart isn't in my job either, but if they'd pay me a few million dollars, I'd work at it for a few years and then retire and live happily ever after. As it is, I just have to work at it and not make much money. That will probably be his reality too. His heart won't be in whatever shite job he ends up with, unless he's more fortunate and smart than he's shown thus far. And he'll be broke like the rest of us.

He's an idiot for messing up his chance in the first place. Multiple times. Then he "retired" only to come back for a few days but now he's "done" again after the Ravens brought him back?

I don't disagree. But in a thread about him quitting football because it wasn't in his heart, it seems unnecessary to bring it up.

Call me crazy, but I think Ro should try his hand at coaching or some type of capacity within the Bama program. I think such structure would help him in life.
