Will any former Alabama golfers push for major PGA wins?

We've seen success of our golf team at the collegiate level the past few years. But the Masters has me wondering if any former golfers will show success on the PGA level.

As well as the team has been doing you would think it has to happen. I hope so. I pulled for Bulldog Bubba this weekend. Watson has ties to the state of Alabama. He played small college here. If freaking Auburn can get a major champion, so can we. We're better than them!

You gotta think Cory or Bobby will make a push next year. Not sure if they'll go to the Web.com or straight to PGA.

Michael Thompson has played well in the US Open a few times. He just hasn't been in the hunt for a win on Sundays.
We've had lots of talented guys come through, but winning on the PGA tour is a whole different level. Winning majors is an accomplishment very few will ever obtain.
I think as long as Jay Seawell is the coach Bama will continue to bring in highly talented golfers and eventually one of them will start winning on the PGA tour.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea Pate won the US Open in 1976.
Hopefully, with Alabama now winning NC's in golf in the modern era, UA will produce a modern major champion to be proud of.
It would be pretty sweet if the PGA had a little SEC flavor.

The last two major champions are from the SEC.
