Is it crazy that I think our WRs are the best/strongest/deepest/most diverse group?

WR
Andre Debose, Fulwood, Hawkins, Chris Thompson, Pittman, Andrades, DeMarcus Robinson, Alvin Bailey, Quinton Dunbar, Sousa/Worton/JC/Moral/BP etc etc

Tall, short, slot, possession, deep threat....very deep group imo. Someone has to step up!

DT
If WR is not our best unit, then DT has to be.
Orr, Bostwick, Riles, Brantley, Cummings, etc....along with Holley/GW3/Khairi Clark. Not sure if all these guys are capable of playing in the middle in 2014, but that is a deep group even if only half of them are able to.

RB
If our RBs had a proven homerun threat, I'd rate them slightly higher. Still, I'm loving this group of backs as they are a deep unit.
Kelvin, Matt, Valdez, Mack, Adam, etc

LB
I'm also liking our LBs this year as we have talent. Let's see if guys like Mike Taylor & Antonio Morrison can bounce back after a subpar 2013.

McMillian, Ball, Powell, Jarrad Davis, Anzalone, Rolin, etc all give our coaches options. I'm liking this group, but why didn't we grab any LBs in our 2014 recruiting class?

Safety
Safety has some talent as well....who will step up? Riggs is gone, so does everyone expect Maye & Gorman to start? Harris & Neal are waiting, who else?

CB & DE I view similarly

We have two of the best, if not the 2 very best in the entire country in VH3 & Dante Fowler. After those two, I'm really not too sure. These guys are crucial to our season being a success, as they must stay healthy.

DE
Can Bullard or Cox be consistent this year? Ivie, Sherit, McCalister, Reed, Bryan, etc are all unproven. I'm very worried about a consistent pass rush coming from the edge by anyone not named Dante Fowler. That guy is going to get doubled all year long......

CB
Again, other than VH3, who can we trust? Who is even playing CB this year?
Will our 2nd CB be either Brian Poole or Nick Washington? Is Tabor, Dawson, or anyone else even capable of playing man this early on?

FB
We have 2 capable fullbacks who can block & catch semi-decently. Can either excel? Again, consistency is key.

On to the weakest groups......

O-Line
We have the talent once again. We have the size. We have the recruiting star power. I just can't get excited until I see consistent performance, especially while pass blocking.

Moore, Brown, Humphries, Garcia, Green, Dillard, Thurman, Jackson, Johnson, Sharpe, Dorsey, etc etc. This is all on our coaches imo

QB
If JD can stay healthy.....
If JD can make sound decisions in the redzone.....
If JD can read the defense just a little.....
He has the weapons surrounding him. I'm pulling for Jeff big time to prove all the haters wrong.

Kicker
Hardin, Velez, anyone?!?

TE
Easily our weakest group.....did our TEs have more than 5 combined receptions all of last year? Is Clay Burton still our best option? Ughhhh.....

Good analysis. I would swap OL and Safety, but that's just me.

I know we're not even close to the O&B game yet, and a lot will change through the summer, but where can I find a projected 2-deep?

You stay on top of football stuff, care to write out your projected 2-deep if you have a minute?

Same goes to anyone else on here....

None of the WR's on the roster have proven much.Dunbar is a known commodity. He averages about 3 catches a game over his career, and not a ton of yards, and doesn't score a lot. No one is scared of Dunbar. Andrades and Pittman have been in the program for 2 years and done very little. The class of 2013ers have potential, but other than Ahmad Fulwood, we don't know about anyone else contributing. Andre Debose is a mystery. In short, no, WRs are no the strongest deepest group.

LB is hurting for depth, where only 5 guys are healthy, and of those, only 4 have game experience.

The RB unit is probably the best on the offense right now, but outside of Taylor, it isn't anything to be super excited about. Lane could be good but is unproven, Showers has potential to be a good change of pace player, but that's all, Mack Brown is nothing but a 3 yards and a cloud of dust type guy and you have to wonder what Matt Jones will ever be able to bring to the table because of his rehab. The new speedy little guy that UF got could help, but he is currently injured.

OL has more bodies than last year, and getting Green back at tackle is big, but the depth is VERY young and mostly untested. Really, there is some raw ability here, but with all the massive underachieving in this unit the few years, it's hard to feel too good about without actually seeing production improve on the field. Humphries and Green have got to stay healthy and play solid at tackle. Hopefully Trenton Brown can take the next step and provide solid depth. The guard positions will need players to step up and Garcia is a bit of a ? at center. Hopefully hes a good snapper.

DT has bodies, but the majority of the depth is untested. Orr and Cummings have been decent, but they got pushed around up front a lot last year, especially against teams with equal or close to equal talent. Bostwick, Riles, Brantley, and the incoming freshmen absolutely have to step up for this unit to be decent. I would not rate this unit as best on the team, too many questions about the rotation.

DE/Buck is a strong position on the team, with Fowler, Bullard, Cox, and Mccalister. The depth is in place, it was bad missing on a good edge rusher this year, but hopefully someone like Taven Bryan or Gerald Willis can provide more bodies there.

The secondary is loaded with talent, but experience will be an issue. That being said, I would probably say its the absolute strength of the team. VH3 and Tabor will be a nasty combo at corner. Brian Poole is a good nickel, and Maye, Harris, Neal, and Gorman provide a good rotation at safety and dime. Washington and Dawson will provide decent depth at corner.

QB depth is a big issue, although the recruiting was great. The team will rise and fall based on how Driskel handles the new offense IMO.

TE is almost a 0. Clay Burton and Tevin Westbrook play tough, but bring nothing to the table offensively. The freshmen are mostly projects.

Strengths and Weaknesses for 2014

Is it crazy that I think our WRs are the best/strongest/deepest/most diverse group?

Leon Orr is the best returning tackle...he...like others...faced injury bug at times in 2013 but he is the most athletic DT we have.

WR is going to be much better than the past few years...will give you that and I expect breakout year from Fulwood especially since he was coming on as a frosh last year. But our defense is lights out and the strength of our team and that's a good thing...defense wins hardware.

RB is solid, OL starting five is solid but not enough experience behind them...injuries here could derail us. TE I agree is a weak link as of now...we will have to see who develops.
