I think the 2014 class looks significantly better, most notably in the trenches and at QB. Skill positions lean towards the 2012 class.
Thoughts? Remember, ALL were ranked the top class in their respective years.

Hell the only full Saban class that wasn't the top class was 2010. And that class had a lot of "trickeration" threw at it. Basically when we went to Pasadena all the targets we were after had the full court anti Bama press put on them.
The anti Bama arguments I remember:
Alabama is too talented (how does that work exactly?)
Actually using a Bama depth chart as a recruiting tool.
Saban just won a title, he is about to retire/leave .
Alabama just won a title, BCS titles are so rare Bama just peaked.
The Allen fiasco was the most obvious and blatant example of the trickery. I still don't know how we 0-4 on elite RB's as well when he had a guy up front winning the Heisman.
Better yet, what made that class stand out as the anomaly? Was the 2010 class overall just more gullible?

Yeldon was a 5 star with as good of a high school tape as there has been in the last decade. Richardson, fournette, seastrunk, Thomas, etc.
And he's the first bama back to rush for 2 1k seasons to start his career coincidentally.

I take it back about the class being a bust for us. We were ranked 10th but that class was actually better for us than it was for basically anyone else. As a whole the 2010 class was a bust but we got good careers from most of our guys. Especially Moseley who probably is the most underrated guy in the whole class.
It was known from the start to be a weak year for QBs. For most of the 2010 recruiting cycle, Phillip Sims was the top Pro Style QB. Heaps jumped him right at the end. Still both guys were in the 60s of the Rivals 100 (Heaps 63, Sims 67). There wasn't a DT QB in the Rivals 100 at all.
I remember the class was hyped. If you followed recruiting then Dyer, Seastrunk, there were a lot of "personalities" in that class. I think a lot of that had to do with it was the class that was being recruited when the whole Chizik situation started. Trooper Taylor was making himself very high profile.
Yes a lot of personality in that class but going through the Rivals 100 I am noticing a trend. There is a lot more Career ending Injuries, High Profile Transfers, and Crimes than there are guys that impacted College football in a positive way.
Especially when it comes to the top names in that class. Demarcus Milliner, Keenan Allen, and Lamarcus Joyner are the only names in the top 25 or so prospects that actually impacted the game in a positive manner.
So I think its fairly obvious the 2010 class "jumped the shark". For every guy I find that is a decent college player you can find 5 that were headcases. Seastrunk especially.
