Smart could show Chavis how to stop traditional offenses like LSU

Chavis could show Smart how to stop Spread Option attacks

I know. I hate that we can never beat Auburn.

All they need to do is go back and watch LSU in 1982 shut down the wishbone attack of Alabama. I was at that game and I have never seen the triple option handled any better!!!!

Stop HUNH- small fast defenders (LSU)

Stop traditional- big, fat LBs

Hard to have both...

LSU always stops that smoke and mirrors offense.

Stop it from the middle out...and we have the athletes to do it, and have proven that.

The one yr Cam beat us was the exception...and we almost won that one too, in their place.

Not worried....got Chavis.

The wishbone took flight in the late 60's and was very successful (Texas, OU, Bama, A&M) but by the early 80's it was mostly a relic.

Not sure what Malzahn is doing but it has got most DC's stumped. It's unconventional and I think most DC's are trying to defend it using conventional schemes. Ain't working.

Chavis has pretty much seen it all by now (Spurrier's Fun & Gun, air raid, pro, spreads) and to his credit appears willing to try some approaches other DCs aren't.

I play against it as you would the wishbone to this extent; Key the QB and hit him every play. He's basically a RB since he rarely throws.
