Today was the biggest cleanup day so far. My son and I got out and helped, and it was emotionally overwhelming. Homeowners were told they have to clear their lots of debris on their own so they are relying on volunteers. We worked at one home that, when we were finished, had nothing left but the fireplace.

And finally, at our first house, the juxtaposition of the "OK" and the 2x4 piercing the house like a spear was quite a sight.

From inside once the 2x4 was removed.

for helping out.

Why are they having to clear their own lots?

the guberment cleared plenty of lots here in Alabama back after 4/27/11.

Not sure, but they were told that at a town meeting a few nights ago. It shouldn't be a problem with all the volunteers coming. In.

Especially interesting considering Obama is from Illinois..you'd think he would send relief to his own home state.

That's great of you to help, and horrible what you had to help clean up from.

That's great flesh, I know you were hit bad with alabama tornadoes. Nice to see you paying it forward.

Not sure if you ever said, did you dad fully recover? Hip injury, right?

Awesome work, Fleshy. That's really great of you and your son to help like you did.
