With win Saturday, Saban will have won in the double digits for a sixth straight season, surpassing The Bear's Bama record 5 seasons in a row, set from 1971-75. This will bring his total to 71-7 for a winning percentage of 91%. Bear's run of 5 yrs was a record of 51-6 for a winning percentage of 89.4%.

The only SEC coach to achieve 6 straight seasons of double digit wins was Steve Spurrier during his tenure at Fla from 1993-98 when he went 65-10 for a winning percentage of 86.6%.

5 straight when they were only playing 10-11 a year is pretty badass.

Just make sure you don't tell Saban, he hates that kind of clutter

Absolutely. That's why I threw in winning percentage as comparison also.

Used to play 10 and 11 games when Bear coached....now with SEC Championship game and Bowl, team can play 14....really not a good comparison.

That's why you look at winning percentage, genius. Saban's run still tops others based on both factors.

Yeah, 2010 would have broken the streak without the extra game (13 to the 12 the Bear played each season, with the tenth victory coming in the bowl game.) OTOH, all the other years in Saban's run would have reached double digit wins well before the extra games were accounted for, so there is that.

The winning percentage is unreal, though.
