Has anyone heard what Johnny Manziel's situation was last year?

I've heard recently that A&M had suspended Manziel for the entire season due to a bar fight in or around College Station (sound familiar?) and he threatened to transfer schools, and somewhere along the line the NCAA waived the suspension.
Anybody else know any more about this? Or what he said this year about "not being able to wait to leave A&M"
curious. probably old news but thought I'd throw it to the rant.
