Is being invited to a D1 Camp a big deal?

My Nephew received a letter from Alabama to come to camp in June. He is a kicker at Parkway High School and he has been seen by a lot of recruiters since Brandon Harris is the QB. It may not mean much but I thought it was cool for him to receive one from Alabama even though I'm an LSU fan. He also received one from Tulane.

I thought they might just send out an invite out to hundreds of kids to stock pile some easy cash since it cost $400 or so to attend.

Do you significantly increase your chances of contracting an StD when you go face first into a stripper poonany?

The answers to your questions and statements are as follows:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. That's a good idea, I'll ask him. Maybe they can carpool too and save some more cash.
4. Yes
5. Yes
I just wanted some insight as to how this works. Do they send out hundreds and hundreds of these things for an easy cash grab or are the invites genuine in the fact that they really want to look at him?

definitely. While it's no guarantee of an offer or even big interest the opportunity is a great one.

It's both. They are selective, but they do try to make as much money as possible, just like every other school. Not many people get noticed at camp, but it will definitely increase his chances

Good luck to your nephew regardless of where he ends up. Ride that kicker money train all the way to a long arse NFL career.

yes,
my wifes cousin is a QB for a program that plays the sec schools. he was not invited to a big time d1 program's camp. Although, I'd say kickers probably get more invites, they are not scouted as much as others.
