We almost didn't, but our QB coach for Sherman at the time went to a game of his and watched him throw 75 passes and begged Sherman to offer. Thank sweet Jesus for that man.

Um, two of these schools are not like the others.

Hell of a QB you guys have yourselves there. Damn impressive for a freshman!

Texas took a look at him--and passed.

Fail.

Which is why Texas will hire Saban this offseason.

Texas did offer. At safety. (Keep in mind Texas doesn't really "offer" unless they know you are going to commit, so they "approve" you for an offer first.)

Still can't get over the plays this guy made yesterday after being chased around, his running ability and accuracy throwing the ball after being under pressure was awesome. Not to mention a freshman going into BD against the #1 team.

What's ridiculous about the whole thing, is that he wasn't exactly a secret. This isn't a nobody blossoming into a star. Manziel was literally named the best high school player in the nation by a couple sources. He was the quarterback listed with the #1 offense on the 2011 Parade All-America team. And he was nearly unanimous pick as Texas' player of the year.

I know he impressed me after our game with A&M and we were lucky to play the Aggies the first game of the season for them. But keep in mind we started qb for his first ever start with very few snaps under his belt and only named starter just before our opener.

Johnny Football has caught on and he deserves the Heisman imho. He can flatout escape tacklers like a magacian and throws accurate on the move with a lightning quick release. Congrats A&M'ers, you have a winner. The rest of the Big 12 little ten are sure envious I bet with the success/media attention A&M is getting in the big boy SEC now.
A&M is heading upwards and Texas has been stagnant or worse the last three years.

In all fairness, his height is the primary reason the whole country didn't offer him.
