Interesting interview here in Baton Rouge today. I know there was a lot Of discussion on whether or not LSU went prevent or soft coverage with lots of arguing both sides so I figured it was a topic best left here. For those that do not remember him he played in the secondary at LSU in 2002 most notably in the Bluegrass Miracle game against Kentucky. They asked his opinion on the Bama LSU game and he said LSU did everything right on that drive. They played man with the safeties back to of course not give up a big play and that McCarron deserved a lot of credit for finally hitting his receivers when he had only completed one pass the entire second half. He said teams like this find ways to win and that was what Bama did. Just good perspective from a guy that played with the Saints and I think if memory serves me correctly the Patriots and had every reason to be homerish but instead leveled with the fans who have been complaining all week of prevent and soft coverage.

"prevent" is just the excuse of the week from the fanbase that invented excuses

There is actually a thread in TR contemplating if Honey Badge would have made a difference on that drive. LSU fans were destroyed by that loss.

Totally different offensive game plan then.
