on the punt.

Wasn't the Arkansas player being blocked which should have deemed that he did NOT touch the ball according to the NCAA publications on ruling the game.

Got a link? BTW, no sarcasm meant here - I'm actually curious.

I always thought that if you're on the kicking team and it touched you, then it touched you.

Maybe it's different if you're on the rec. team and you're pushed into it...

Forced Touching Disregarded
ARTICLE 4. a. A player blocked by an opponent into a scrimmage kick that has
crossed the neutral zone shall not, while inbounds, be deemed to have touched the
kick (A.R. 6-3-4-I, II and IV).
b. An inbounds player touched by a ball batted by an opponent is not deemed to
have touched the ball (A.R. 6-3-4-III).

He wasn't blocked into the kick.
He was just being blocked and the ball fell out of the sky and hit him.

This seems like a good explanation to the rule.

By that logic, then had the ball hit the OSU player blocking the Arkansas player it would have been deemed a muffed kick and a free ball?

I am asking, I do not know the correct ruling, obviously.
