At least yesterday. Check this out.

1st half: 3 points. Scored on 1 of 6 drives.

2nd half: 21 points. Scored on 4 of 5 drives.

Saban was trying to be fancy and get the passing game going in the 1st half and forgot he had a heisman caliber RB back there. He gave the ball to Ingram virtually every play in the 2nd half and he ate up a tired LSU defensive front.

Sure that wasn't the only adjustment he made, but it's obvious that he flipped all the right switches in the locker room on Saturday.

He does well at halftime adjustments but a master he is not, a master would be someone like Paul Johnson or Norm Chow.

Peterson left the game. That equaled 7 points.

or he knew we would have to throw the ball early to soften up the defense and get the running game going in the second half.

Usually works the other way.

That's why I said at least yesterday.

And PP leaving the game had nothing to do with pounding the rock and blasting away LSU's defensive front.

The passing game wasn't working. It takes a good passing game to allow the run to work.

your right, we didn't start gaining yards on the ground when your defense shifted to two deep safeties in the second half.

I agree.

we were not going to run the ball with 8-9 in the box which is why we shifted to five wide more than any other game we did all season.

You didn't even run the ball in the first half. You don't know whether it would have been successful or not.

the point is, we did what it took to win. the game-plan obviously worked.

Which was another good adjustment by Saban.

This isn't the first time we've had this gameplan. And I'm sure it's not Nick Saban's first rodeo.

We were throwing the ball, to loosen y'all up. We were actually pretty successful throwing it we just didn't finish the drives.

If we start making plays down the field you are talking about high 30 and 40 point games, i.e. national championship.

i'm -really- shocked at how few Bama fans have mentioned the two touchdowns we really should have had. had we scored those 14 points, people would be kissing Bama's arse SO hard right now. i'm actually glad we didn't NOW... because our offense will continue to get a little less respect than it deserves and that helps to keep egos in check and fly under the radar. (i've seen no one talk about it yet that is)

Not necessarily. Had LSU been in zone on that play (i don't remember their set), PP might have been on the other WR.

I think Saban is a master in pushing his players in the offseason through strength and conditioning programs, not so much in half time adjustments. We were sucking eggs in the 4th quarter (ex. cramps) and Bama was still going strong in the 4th quarter. That was the difference.

He also did wonders with the O during the bye week. Gmac was a couple of drops from passing for over 300 yards.

Throwing the ball in the first half was all part of the plan to loosen up your defense for Ingram in the 2nd half.
