What I don’t understand is how LSU can pay this considering the state of the University’s finances.

How many times do we have to explain this?

LSU athletics (and TAF) are COMPLETELY separate from the university and do not receive a penny of university/state funds. It is a completely separate and fully independent entity from the university. LSU is one of the few athletic departments in the country that doesn’t receive any funding from university/public funds.

The only public funds we get is from the children’s hospital funds.
