I’ve always appreciated the work Vahe does dating back to his time at the STL Post Dispatch. He has a write up on Reed-Francois and her path to Mizzou and abilities to face the challenges at Mizzou.
If you read through the article, it points out that she was on the committee that hired Cuonzo Martin at Tennessee and her son was committed to walk on for Cuonzo at Mizzou several months before she was hired here (things we already knew). My takeaway from the article is basically that she, much like Cuonzo, values other things more highly than on-field or on-court success when it comes to the athletic program. Considering their extensive personal and professional relationship, as well as shared vision of what the program should prioritize, I see absolutely zero chance Cuonzo is fired before his contract expires and I wouldn’t be surprised if she tries to get an extension in place (would surely be denied by the BoC).
All that to say, Reed-Francois seems like a very admirable and driven individual and I’m willing to give her a chance to right the ship of Mizzou athletics (not just basketball), but my hopes for any change to the basketball program prior to 2024 are very very low.

I hope someone tells her that she's the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR.

I hated this hire when we made it. I’ll hate it more when she extends Cuonzo

Choi should be gone for allowing the hire. Her previous connection to Clownzo and his current standing here should have been taken into consideration.
All three of their asses should be gone if she does not have the ability to make an unbiased decision based on wins and losses.

I don’t disagree with the whole “making a positive impact for student athletes” thing they’re trying to do, but it is much better suited for lower levels of competition. We are literally in the most competitive league at the collegiate level and if your top priority isn’t winning games, you are wasting everyone’s time.
I can’t imagine the SEC is thrilled with a member school not interested in fielding competitive teams, that doesn’t also provide the private school protection and academic prowess that a school like Vanderbilt does. Outside of TV revenue, Mizzou is currently just dead weight.

I don’t think asking to pull a point guard or a shooter from the portal was asking us to sacrifice the character of the program lol. I think that tag line is just cop out for not being able to win/recruit.

Why can't it be both? Zo was hired to win (he hasn't) and she's was hired to make sure every team wins (TBD).

cuonzo absolutely deserves an extension/new contract so that we can lower his buyout.

Made me laugh and how true

My grand mother has some pretty big connections in the athletic department (odd source…. I know…) and they are under the impression Reed-Francois is a “win or get the frick out” personality. Apparently she has already put people on notice that she isn’t messing around. Once again… this is just according to Gigi

Reads great on a message board but I'll believe that when I see it. If she cared about winning she wouldn't be such a Cuonzo fan. He has never won and she still liked him.

Never won? He's been in the NCAA tourney several times at multiple schools! Get off his arse.

That is the requirement to be labeled "winning?" you can't be serious.

Listen Cuonzo. Can I call you Cuonzo?
You're a man of integrity and class who sucks at coaching and recruiting basketball beyond a 6th grade rec level.
Do us all a favor and resign at the end of this season so we can get back to Mizzou basketball tradition of losing in the Elite 8.

Year 5 and worst team yet. He sucks. The sooner we can move on the sooner we can maybe have some hope.

Be interesting to see just how much bad basketball DRF can take.

He’s going to be the 3rd worst coach we’ve ever had by the time he leaves.
Not sure if he’s just stopped trying or the game has just passed him by.

While I agree, it wouldn’t be ideal starting your tenure bashing the basketball coach the moment you step foot on campus. 1) you cannot fire the guy just yet 2) could scare off potential HC’s from coming in as it would look reckless.
I hope we eat the $6 million to bring in some new blood. You can bet Cuonzo’s name has been brought up in conversation daily. Only time will tell, though.

Given the AD budget of well over $100mil/yr, any competent AD should have no problem budgeting to pay off that $6mil over a few years.
