re: How is Mississippi State not ranked In the new AP or coaches poll?

We probably will be with the one that matters; as will Arkansas. We'll find out tomorrow night. Not that it's a playoff question but I think bowl hierarchy plays into the playoff rankings. We were 16 prior to pooping the nest against Arkansas.
