Arkansas landed its 13th incoming transfer commitment on Friday when former Florida safety Miguel Mitchell announced his decision to play for Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks. Mitchell, 6-1, 215, was one of seven official visitors on Arkansas' campus last week to start the five-day visit window for midyear transfers. He has signed with the Hogs and is set to officially join the program this weekend.

Mitchell was recruited to Fayetteville by defensive coordinator Travis Williams and defensive backs coach Deron Wilson, who was on staff at Florida during Mitchell's first season in The Swamp. The safety made his decision after also checking out Memphis, Tulane, and LSU.

"I feel like I've made a pretty good relationship with Coach T-Will, and Coach Wilson, me and him have a prior relationship at Florida," Mitchell said following his visit. "It's been good.

"Just that relationship with Coach Wilson, he was calling me every day. I know him as a person, I know who he is as a coach, and that's really what got me up here to check it out. He told me to come see what they're talking about."

In addition to Mitchell, Arkansas’ official visit list for the five-day window included South Alabama cornerback Marquise Robinson, Utah running back Ja’Quinden Jackson, Florida offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua, Mississippi State offensive lineman Percy Lewis, Albany defensive end Anton Juncaj, and UAB cornerback Brian Mayes.

The Razorbacks have other transfer commitments from quarterback Taylen Green of Boise State, running back Ja’Quinden Jackson of Utah, wide receiver Jordan Anthony of Texas A&M, tight end Andreas Paaske of Eastern Michigan, offensive tackle Keyshawn Blackstock of Michigan State, offensive tackle Fernando Carmona of San Jose State, offensive guard Addison Nichols of Tennessee, defensive end Anton Juncaj of Albany, linebacker Xavian Sorey of Georgia, cornerback Marquise Robinson of South Alabama, safety Doneiko Slaughter of Tennessee, and kicker Matthew Shipley of Hawaii.

Before Mitchell is added to the commitment list, Arkansas’ transfer class ranked 16th in the nation and fourth in the SEC, according to 247Sports. The Hogs also added 17 signees from the high school ranks during the early signing period, and the group currently ranks 26th in the nation and 14th out of 16 SEC teams. Arkansas’ combined recruiting ranking for the high school and transfer class is 26th nationally and 14th in the league.

Defensive coordinator Travis Williams and the Arkansas Razorbacks added another quality secondary transfer to the fold on Friday.

Florida safety transfer Miguel Mitchell signed with the Razorbacks after visiting Fayetteville last week.

"It's more than I expected, I'll say that," Mitchell said last Friday." But I love everything I've seen. The facilities are pretty nice, that's one thing that stood out to me."

The 6-foot-1, 219-pound sophomore played 385 total snaps in 11 games all at the safety position for the Gators. He racked up 37 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and an interception in that span.

"I'd never been to Arkansas, never talked to them out of high school or anything like that," Mitchell said. "It's just something new, just something I came over to look at."

According to Pro Football Focus, Mitchell finished the year with an overall grade of 55.7. He also had a run defense grade of 59.1, a tackling grade of 43.0, a pass rush grade of 62.2 and a coverage grade of 54.7.

"I feel like I've made a pretty good relationship with Coach T-Will, and Coach Wilson, me and him have a prior relationship at Florida," Mitchell said. "It's been good.

"Just that relationship with Coach Wilson, he was calling me every day. I know him as a person, I know who he is as a coach, and that's really what got me up here to check it out. He told me to come see what they're talking about."
