Ruggs knows he is fricked....

It will be interesting to see what his legal team's strategy is. I can't imagine any scenario where his bloodwork gets thrown out of court. He refused to blow; no doubt the cops had probable cause under Nevada law to take his blood. If a judge and jury ever hear the eyewitness accounts by those who tried to save the victim of her screaming as she burned alive, he'll be convicted after about 5 minutes of deliberation and the judge will give him the maximum. If he has any functioning brain cells left after all that alcohol, he'll take a plea.

Don't give a single frick what he is feeling. He took a persons life b/c he is moron. Put him in the bottom of the jail and forget he exists.

Edit: Borotiger, not attacking you in anyway. I've had a friend and a family member taken away by drunk drivers. frick them for all they are worth.

Another thing is the incoming punitive damages. They know he is good for it too.

He got over $9MM in signing bonus, two years under his contract, and whatever endorsement monies he has made.

He probably will be paying it all in restitution to the victims and attorney fees. He will be lucky if he has anything left after he gets out of jail.

I guess the same attorney that got Jacobs off will get Ruggs off too
The millions in payments to family will give him a lesser sentence

Jacobs was under the legal limit and didn't hurt anyone but himself.

Jacobs was charged with "Duty of Driver to Decrease Speed Under Certain Circumstances."

Ruggs actually ended a human life and deserves to rot in prison for a very long time.

I don't recall any people defending him after news came out of what had actually happened.

Don't get me wrong, I don't either, I just can't imagine what someone would feel after doing this.

You started a thread called ‘Bama players out here killing folks’ yesterday. Don’t think you have a podium to stand on (at?).

WTH man?

Josh Jacobs didn't kill anyone, Henry Ruggs murdered someone. There's no "getting off" when your BAC is .161 and you're driving +150 mph in a residential area rear-ending an automobile killing and innocent person.

This right here.

Having said that, the best deal he likely gets is a blind plea. Unless someone really screwed up something with evidence collection (and this is Vegas. They have tons of experience dealing with rich drunks doing stupid stuff) he has absolutely no cards to play.

Yeah, I was waiting for more information to come out to see if I saw any potential angles his attorneys might explore, but with a BAC that high and driving that fast, he has no options.

It's nicholastiger. He's a real piece of work that deserved the banhammer a long time ago. Actual truth and facts don't matter one bit to him.

Think he has a kid.

I'm guessing he's been a total idiot all his life but being able to run fast saved him. In his second football ever which was as a HS junior he was offered a scholarship, great high school athlete Alabama state 100m record holder.

Do hate to see this, it's a tragedy am guessing another no father in the home so good lucky mama deal so the kid grows up stupid and alone. Cat had a gun.....why?

Curious about what music he listens to. What goes with 160 MPH drunk on your arse?

How would they deal with this in Saudia Arabia, hmmmmm....off with his head?

That little bastard got a minimum 3 yr sentence for this idiocy (under youthful offender status.)
Ruggs should get triple that IMHO.

His blanket statement is clearly wrong, but I'm afraid it might be right in this case. The Brambetts were hit square in the rear end. There was tremendous damage and energy transfer. Ruggs' corvette ran under this poor lady's SUV. If you look at the pictures, the rear end doesn't look damaged much at all but the rear tires are pushed way forward. I'm guessing that underrun also ruptured her fuel tank.

I know dead is dead, but if she did survive the crash and burned to death it's just yet another level of terrible.
