Let's just remember that Mullen was the third choice after we whiffed on Scott Frost and Chip Kelly, so who do we go after to replace Mullen if he leaves or is forced out, and why would they come to Florida over their current situation, and any other available opening?
Let's hear it.

1. Cristoball (priority is recruiting at this point, anyone saying otherwise doesn’t get it)
2. Lane
3. Aranda
4. Franklin
5. Tucker
Mullen is done dudes. That press conference this morning was absolutely pathetic.
You want to become Tennessee under Butch Jones? Then keep Mullen and see what happens.

Hugh Freeze. It’s time. With the NIL, he will have a field day shoveling money to recruits, but this time he won’t be caught.

I think a lot of people are kinda blowing this season way out of proportion. This was always going to be a rebuilding year. Sometimes there’s going to be down year for coaches, especially when you’re replacing a quarterback like Trask, and 1st round weapons in Pitts and Toney. Don’t get me wrong, I’m pissed with how this season is going and I was pissed Mullen retained Grantham after last season, but I’m willing to give Mullen a 5th year with the firing of Grantham, CRob, Montinar, Knox and Hevesy…a total rehaul of his staff and bring in some recruiters and make recruiting the #1 priority (probably wishful thinking that he’d actually do this). I’m weary of entering a coaching search right because I don’t see any sure fire upgrades unless a miracle happened and Urban came back. I also don’t like the idea of hiring defensive minded coaches because of how important quarterback development is. I know a lot of people may disagree with me but this is where I stand as of today. Now, if Mullen were to lose any of the remaining games my tune could change very quickly.

Mullen not going anywhere so not wasting time on wondering who the next Head coach will be. Now DC is another story.

The "what then? Who do we hire?" question is not the way I'd look at this whole situation. That's basically saying you're afraid of change itself. I'm not an AD so I haven't vetted any potential candidates nor do I watch/analyze enough game film from other teams to really answer that without just going with the usual, often brought up names for a new HC opening. I agree that the 5-10 names brought up as the next potential great hire aren't real exciting to me. But instead of asking "what then?" I prefer to ask "am I extremely confident that Mullen can get it done?". If the answer is no, then it's time to move on, end of story.
I'm willing to give Mullen another year if he revamps his staff, but as of now I'm not confident that he'll ever be able to put all the pieces together to build a championship team and have a championship season.

I want Lincoln Riley.
That’s about as realistic as Mullen leaving or getting fired.
