There is no reason to have Georgia at Tier 2 and not Auburn.
LSU and Florida are almost a sub-tier of Tier 2 if we're looking at overall history. In the last 30 years, they've been far and above all SEC teams but Alabama, however before that the history is very average.
Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn have been more consistent at their 2nd tier level
Tennessee was probably Tier 1 until 2007. Fun fact about Tennessee is that they've had 9 losing seasons since 2005, while Tennessee only had 9 losing seasons from 1924-2005
