And I’m fully on team, Fried was tipping tonight, I’m too inebriated to fully construct this thought right now, but someone on Twitter has found his tip

The guy I saw on Twitter commenting about it clarified that it appears to exclusively happen when he's got a runner on base, because of where he resets his grip at his waist being visible to the hitter it seems. He's regripping the ball differently for breaking balls, and seems particularly noticeable for the curve, versus the fastball, the grip doesn't change, so the glove isn't moving. At a minimum, it's signaling to the hitter when they can expect fastball vs offspeed/breaking.

If random dude on Twitter can spot that, it's hard to believe that the Braves organization can't, so hopefully if it's accurate, they can work on it between now and his next start. Perhaps more importantly, someone with hours to burn needs to start examining any of our pitchers who have been tagged up recently (see: Jackson, Luke) just to ensure that there isn't something going on there as well.

This was where my head went last night, too.

If your top of the rotation guy has a tip that's gone undetected, by you, that could be a sign that other guys on the team might have something going on undetected as well.

I just can't believe that one staffer/coach isn't assigned to sit and watch the game like he is working for the other team. Have him sit there and try to look for tips, try to steal the signs from your guys, just be the canary in the coal mine for situations involving information being telegraphed to the other squad.
