We all get that they’re playing great, fundamental defense right now. But the question is are they really playing the more capable “wide open” offensive schemes that people are implying when they say this?

Kentucky, Arkansas and Auburn aren’t exactly “modern offensive juggernauts,” nor do they really strike fear in the heart of defenses.

Kentucky runs the LA Rams offense with extremely complicated movements. They’re about as modern and complicated as they come.

KJ Jefferson has looked good against everyone else and Briles has been heralded as one of the most innovative play callers in the country.

Fair point although UK has scores of 28, 42, 35, in games this year. Plus UGA won’t face any great offense until they get to the SECCG and that’s if Bama makes it (which I think most people think will happen). The best they will face before them is Tenne-freaking-see. Then who’s gonna get them in the playoffs? Ohio State? Not gonna happen. Oklahoma? Nah. CINCINATTI? Nope.

That’s why I said “so far”. Schematically they have faced modern style attacks, Arkansas has scored plenty and runs a spread system, Auburn has scored a lot of points this year and Clemson is a highly talented spread team as well regardless of being down this season.

You are confusing modern with spread.
