He said he started by doing that, THEN was coaching by 19. I know reading is tough though. A head coach of the school is probably just lying too

Oh! So he was breaking down film for Lutheran at age 18 then? While he was also "defensive coordinator" of a 6A school??
So he did both in 1995? He was coaching for two teams the same year??

Full story for you, enjoy.

Yes, Aranda coached in high school the year after he graduated hig hschoo, for the JV team. Like I said:

quote:

The former standout linebacker at Redlands High School in Southern California was set adrift in life when a chronic shoulder injury derailed his playing career. He attempted to join the Navy, but he couldn’t pass the physical with a bad shoulder. He didn’t care much for school at the time. He coached the JV squad at Redlands

Secondly, while he didnt start out as LB coach at Cal Luthern, this says he was promoted to LB coach before graduating:

quote:

Injuries let Aranda get an early start on his coaching career. He hung around at Cal Lutheran and started working as a student assistant coach. Most of his free time was devoted to scraping together enough gas money to drive to USC, UCLA or Arizona State so he could pick the minds of their defensive coaches. By the time he was wrapping up his philosophy degree as a senior, he was promoted to Cal Lutheran’s linebacker coach.

So yes, he WAS the LB coach at Cal Lutheran in the 90s.
