WJOX in Birmingham used to have good morning show, and then the guys defected to making a podcast instead.

Now we're stuck with Cole Cubelic and Greg McElroy.

Mobile luckily has two sports stations now. WNSP, the older one, brought in some yankee who is more interested in Red Sox/Yankees/Syracuse than the SEC. Then they have Lee Shervanian who has been on the station since the 90s and doesnt know anyone's name in sports and loves discussing the NY Knicks

The other station is great

Houston sports talk totally sucks. Unbearable. 92% Texans. Very little else. Texans minutae to the nth degree. Sports talk in Houston 15 years ago was awesome. Just pathetic.

The Ticket in Dallas is a pretty good mixture of sports and general talk radio. It says something when the main hosts have been there for 20 years.

When I was in Athens I used to always listen to 960, which is obviously 90% UGA coverage. Macon has a sports station, which I don’t listen too much, though they are good for Braves coverage, though I still mostly opt for 960 through the app, especially during college football season.

KSR Radio. Matt Jones, Drew Franklin. They talk about nothing. Matt is a Democrat who thought about running against Cocaine Mitch last year.

Why would anyone listen to a bad radio talk show long enough to determine it's the worst.

I used to listen to H2H when Matt and Richard were on. I occasionally tune in the Sports Talk Mississippi with Richard, Borke and Hadad but it's just not as good as when Matt was on there.

KsR

It's a woke show. Can be funny, but Matt and Ryan are becoming insufferable.

New ORleans has two cajuns on the 50,000 watt blowtorch, WWL. Bobby Hebert is usually drunk or maybe he is just that difficult to understand. Mike Detellier knows some stuff.

In BR, anything with Richard Condon is just plain awful. dood stop already

In Texas, they all are bad. In Dallas, it is all Cowboys, all the time. In Houston, it is all Texans all the time.

When we joined the SEC, I assumed Finebaum was the place to go. I assumed it had to be an acquired taste because it was really bad. Well I assumed incorrectly, it is still really bad. Please tell me those people who call in are fictitious. Surely people from the South are not that ignorant.

I get my information from the internet and Sirius XM channel 84.

Not sure about “worse” as I enjoy all sports radio.

But the very best I have heard is Bill King on WNSR in Nashville.

Here is a link to his Twitter that has the shows on it for those that can’t listen live.

Baton Rouge is solid with their sports radio, these locals have no idea how lucky they are. I travel the country for work and sports radio is all I listen to.

Houston and Mississippi are the worst but Baton Rouge can hang with anyone on talent. At least they could before they lost Jordy Cuolotta.

Jox is still good but when Finebaum was just a local radio guy it was pretty epic. Paul use to take pride in getting coaches fired, glad he’s chilled off of that.

I didn't realize over the air sports talk shows were still that popular. I thought most people were listening to streaming podcasts that focused on their particular interest these days.

If you work outside alot I can see the value of listening to radio. Otherwise it seems a waste of time given the better streaming options available.
