Oh...man...what a depressing performance. But I was very encouraged by Lane's comments right after the game. He mentioned "as bad as a defense can play," and he waved off any suggestion that the defense had "stopped" Arkansas. Kiffin acknowledged that it wasn't a "stop" as much as it was poor execution on the Hogs' part. I was really encouraged that Lane seemed completely fed up with how pathetic Durkin's defense is. DJ Durkin has never been a winner, and he left Maryland under a cloud of controversy, yet someone in Oxford thought he would a good hire - even after scores of former players stated that Durkin was a bad person and an even worse coach. Just Google it. It is SO unfair to players like Corral and the Rebs O line to have to score 50+ points just to eek out a victory. If I were advising a 5 star prospect like Arch Manning, for example, I'd say, "young man...whatever you do...do NOT waste your time at a place like Ole Miss where the admins don't care enough to suppport you with the best defensive minds Mississippi money can buy. Go to a school where mediocrity simply isn't accepted."

Trying not to rant. Just trying to express my views in the hopes that others will see the same things and perhaps some momentum can build to force Ole Miss admin to go out there and hire the BEST coaching talent possible. DJ Durkin just ain't it.

Lane was the guy in Oxford wanting Durkin. I don’t see Lane keeping him around just for the hell of it though.
