So your position is you can’t criticize anyone for anything unless you’re morally superior to them? So you saying I’m wrong right now means you think you’re morally superior to me? You see how that’s a never ending cycle?

quote:

1. Are Auburn fans guilty of doing the same thing?
2. If so, then why a thread about Georgia fans and not Auburn fans?

1. I already said maybe
2. I haven’t noticed it

quote:

Here is the definition:
Moral superiority is the belief or attitude that one's position and actions are justified by having higher moral values than others.

The part of your own definition that you’re missing is “justified by having higher moral values”

My position isn’t justified at all by my moral values. Me saying Georgia fans are wrong is not a statement on how good/bad their character is.

You would also have to assume that I think I'm morally perfect in order for your argument to work which I do not.

Yet you have not started a thread calling out Auburn fans. maybe you haven't noticed it because you choose to ignore it? A couple of posters from different fan bases have pointed it out, though, so maybe you should start a specific thread calling out Auburn posters?

That does fit the definition, does it not? I mean being morally superior to someone is actually a good thing, is it not? Don't you feel like you are morally superior to Hitler, for instance? Should we not all try to be morally superior?

I do see that....which is why maybe you shouldn't be calling people out if you do not want to be seen as morally superior. I however do want to be seen as morally superior, so I have no problem with it.

Isn't it, though? By the very thread you are saying we are wrong for feeling morally superior. Or are you saying it is okay to feel morally superior?

We can chase the rabbit all day long if you would like. I am retired and don't have a whole lot to do today since it is raining.

ETA
By the way. that wasn't "my" definition. It's in the dictionary.

I mean there are Auburn fans that thought UGA wearing black jerseys and dancing to Soulja Boy was disrespectful.

Your opinions of other fans are different than how they view themselves, and vice versa. Everyone is somewhat blind to the failures of their people and overly sensitive to the failures of people not on their “team.”

ETA: I do think the culture in the two towns and student bodies are pretty different. The whole thing about Auburn and Georgia being similar groups is/was overstated, at least in the past 20 years. Auburn and Georgia largely appeal to different kinds of kids in terms of what college environment they are looking for.
