Calzada compared to 2017 Kellen Mond.

4 games in

Mond: 50-99-2 for 649 yards and 6 TD, 35 carries for 157 yards and 1 TD

Calzada: 57-108-3 for 609 yards and 4 TD, 16 carries for 25 yards

Looks pretty even to me.

Mond was a true freshman in 2017. This is Calzada'a 3rd year in the program. Why are you obsessively posting this comparison?

Just throwing up stats w/zero context doesn't tell the full story and as Nanos mentioned comparing a true freshman who everyone knew was a project as a passer to a guy who has been in the system for three years and was called an NFL talent by his coach is disingenuous at best.

Also at saying Mond's 35 carries for 157 yards and 1 TD is pretty even w/Calzada's 16 carries for 25 yards. In what universe is that anywhere near even? Mond's ability and willingness to run separates him from Calzada by a wide margin. If Calzada would/could step up and run teams wouldn't be able to have their DEs bull rush him.

BTW if you want to obsess over something I'd look at when Jimbo said in the postgame that after the Spiller TD Ainias had two runs called that weren't explosive enough to matter b/c I have no idea what he could be referring to. Ainias had no running plays and his two receptions were for 12 and 23 yards.
