Little known fact about Alabama’s 18 NC’s..

Every single coach that has won a NC at Alabama won his first NC at Alabama within the first 4 years at that school.

5 Coaches 18 National Championships
(claimed by the school.. i’m not debating which ones are real or not)

If he didn’t win in 4 years, he never did at Alabama.

Let the butthurt flow through you. It must be miserable waking up every morning with bama titles on the mind.

Debate what you will , but no one is more accomplished than bama football in several categories including titles. PERIOD.

Actually the '41 one is wrong, but the goat-fricking we took in '66 MORE than makes up for it.

Throw in UPI...FWAA...and approximately 40 others who were officially recognized by the NCAA.

The AP was far from the only poll. In fact, for half of the 20th Century, it didn't have the stature that it had up until a few years ago when the playoff system began and the AP became merely one of two guides the committee uses to make their judgments.

During the 1960's and early 1970's, both the AP & UPI changed their policies about how they even voted to choose a national champion. It was weird. The other 40 or so polls never did that.

Technically, Alabama can claim all the titles they want in which they've been voted #1 per the NCAA -- although, claiming some of them begs one to really question their wisdom in doing so and I love to rib'em about it (the same goes for some other schools like Tennessee & Michigan claiming a few) -- but, it is what it was and it is what it is now.

But it’s funny how rival fans love to pick an choose which publications they want to credit as legit back in the day To discredit bama.

. I hate to break it you all but bama doesn’t claim every title they could. Out of the ones bama does claim 41’ is the only one that can be tossed out as head scratching . For 1941’s claim 1966 says hello. Biggest screwing in college football history.

And also Georgia seeing as how the only other title they claim (1942) was awarded to them, not by the AP or UPI, but by Houlgate. Very sad.

Yeah, the AP and UPI are gold if they didn’t pick Bama, but, illegitimate if they did.
