Rewatched NM no huddle. Oline issues are bad.

I rewatched through most of the no huddle.

Our Oline is worse than I thought. Some of the main things I noticed:

- All first half, NM pushed the A gaps around Foster. Whether they just hit them directly 1v1 or did some fancy mesh, Foster was often flat footed and missed the block.

- The second half they switched to overloading the outside. We had situations a number of times where a HB was left to block a DT or DE all by himself. Generally resulted in a sack. One play they rushed 5 and we had a TE and HB that stayed back just to block, and they had 2 break through on the outside on the C gap to chase Calzada down.

The LT was about the only position we seemed consistently strong at (blocking). The rest was garbage.

This season is going to hurt.

Need Robinson and Matthews to get healthy fast. They are doing a lot of experimenting to figure out what works in a game that we were going to win anyway. I wouldn't make too many judgements yet. Fatheree had a nice game and Foster is having a rough time but it's all learning curve, he's big and strong enough but he's still figuring it all out.

It's possible we are screwed but I really think we are taking steps backwards in order to go forward.

I have the same impression. The OL is weak this season and it's not just Trainor.

I rewatched much of the game watching the OL and would rate the performances as follows:
Fatheree - solid B needs to get a lot stronger, but he looked better than I expected

Johnson - C+ he was ok, but he is too small to move anyone. He at least gets in the way of his defender.

Aki - C He didn't stand out, but the next 3 sure did.

Kenyon - D+ was shocked how many times he got beat in the 1st half. He probably wasn't really this bad, but he is to blame for a lot of the Trainor complaints.

Trainor - D He and Kenyon got beat handing off guys over and over. It was both of them. And Trainor is going to struggle with anyone that has foot speed.

Foster D- I can't decide if he is just unsure of what to do or too slow. I think he was just confused, hope so. Not really fair to judge a true fish playing out of position on the OL, but it was rough.

Will be interesting to see who rolls out the 1st series in Jerry World. Henson knows WAY more than I could pretend to know, but the clock is running.
