The last three games of the year were against Florida, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, and you'd expect to see some breakdowns against teams of that caliber and in those situations (all essentially playoff games). Even with that, though, the only bad game was Florida; the defense played exceptionally well against ND and OSU.
I'm with you - it's one of the reasons I was excited about this unit this year. They got better last year and by the end of the year were playing very solid football.
Florida wasn't great, but I think we all agreed that most of that was just Florida having elite receivers and a QB playing a great game. Notre Dame and Ohio State were very, very solid showings.
I still harbor some hope that the 2nd half Saturday was just a snowball effect thing. I really hope that's the case

I do too. My fear is Charlie Strong was the difference last year, and he ain't here no more.

2nd half basically resulted in both teams scoring on every possession, and each possession took 4-5 minutes.
Florida’s passing game has a long ways to go just like Bamas defense.
I’m not gonna say Bamas defense is down this year yet.
Basically same thing happened to Bama during the Ole Miss game last year, and of course that defense grew and played lights out the rest of the year until y’all played Florida, and Florida had arguably the best TE in CFB in the last 20 years, one of the most explosive WRs in CFB, and a great QB.
Mullen is probably a top 2-3 playcaller and offensive mind in CFB with Kiffin, Sark, and Riley up there.
To summarize, both teams played exceptionally well, and I don’t think it really says a lot negative about either.
Hopefully we get a Round 2 in ATL because that game would be freaking enormous.
