Hugh Green had an amazing year for Pitt in 1980 and finished his college career with 53 sacks. George Rogers and Herschel Walker had great years, but Green had a better year than both. Green turned out to not even be the best pro-linebacker on that Pitt squad as Rickey Jackson was on the other side. He played Defensive End at Pitt.

Of course the best player to get drafted that year was Lawrence Taylor by a wide margin.

That Pitt team was loaded. Dan Marino, Hugh Green, Rickey Jackson, Russ Grimm, Jimbo Covert, and Mark May. Four of those guys from that team are in the NFL Hall of Fame.

So maybe Green didn't get robbed. He was just freed up to do great things because the team was so loaded.
