They have no skill players and haven't had any that would keep any DC up at night for years. Can't think of who their last dominant WR or RB would be. That's how long it's been.

They have a mediocre/bad Oline.

They've land classes with several blue chip players, but it seems like blue chip players go their and fade into oblivion.

I heard a theory on a talk show that the high ranked Texas players they recruit play such an advanced state of high school football that their ceilings in college are lower than expected. Interesting point but tough to prove

We don't have any issues with TX players.

This absolutely sounds like something Texas HS would do so I'll believe it

Texas has had 3 1st round draft selection since 2010.

Their talent level doesn't match their mouth.

Maybe that sense of entitlement will go away after they join the SEC and realize that they aren't control everything for the first time.

Their sense of entitlement doesn't come from a sense of being in control so that won't happen.

I mean they've always called the shots in whatever conference they've been in (especially the SWC). That shite ain't gonna fly in Birmingham.

It's simple arrogance. They think the world bows down to the burnt orange. Um, no.

Texas kids are soft coming out of HS. What Texas needed was a hard-nosed coach, not another hotshot OC.

But plenty of TX players go to other programs and ball out.

Terrible culture, poor coaching and lack of talent. Overzealous on the hype because they are Texas.

Ohio State gets good players out of Texas. That was unheard of 10 plus years ago.

The players they recruit aren't as good as advertised.

We've got a RS freshman starting CB from TX. He's raw but plays like an animal.

That's some of it because they manipulate recruiting rankings. I saw one of their beat writers openly admit they do that just a few months ago by "calling their people in the recruiting services". I was surprised by that. You're only hurting yourself when you do that.

Some of it is also their Big Hats interfering in their recruiting decisions. Their Big Hats can't evalute talent for shite. That's why they've watched so many QBs from their state go elsehwere and win Heisman's and Natties.

Go look at their QB commit in their current class and look at his HS production on Maxpreps. He's a Rival's camp 7v7 superstar, and nothing else. It's hilarious he's the one they wanted while there were much better QBs in their own state.

Herman really should've worked out. Seemed like a perfect match.

He did some good things. When he got there he emphasized getting the softness out of their program and he achieved that. They were never soft under hermanus I'll give them that.

Eh I don't know about that. Way too many losses to vastly inferior teams.
