Alabama Softball to Play in Inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown in Albertville
The Crimson Tide will face Jacksonville State March 30, 2022 at the brand-new Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater
ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – Alabama softball will play in the inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown at the brand-new Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater on March 30, 2022 against Jacksonville State.
Crimson Tide head coach Patrick Murphy was joined Monday by Gamecocks head coach Jana McGinnis to formally announce the event at a press conference at the Sand Mountain Park Fitness Center.
"This community should be so proud of what they have with this facility," said Murphy "Jana is one of our best friends in softball and I'm so glad we get to play JSU. We've taken our show on the road like this a few times in the past and it's one of the best environments we find when we do this. There's a lot of people in the area that might not be able to see us in Tuscaloosa. It's a win-win for the sport, for both schools and people get exposed to the sport of softball."
Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. CT at www.sandmountainpark.com.
