I still care. A lot. I love the Gamecocks and although it goes almost completely against the grain with posters on here, I'm optimistic. I believe I'm more in line with most fans outside of the message board bunch. I don't give a damn about the board of trustees and don't believe they're the problem anymore. I think the situation has changed at Carolina. Since Spurrier and Hyman got the facilities improvements going its been different. The biggest problems right now are 1) the way Spurrier quit. His 2 to 3 year comment killed recruiting and momentum. 2) Hiring Muschamp. He destroyed what was left of team chemistry. His recruiting strategy left so many position groups in a bad way that its almost laughable. In comes Beamer. I feel he is the perfect person for the job. He doesn't view it as a stepping stone. His demeanor and attitude seem to be a hit with recruits and their families. He just has the right approach in my opinion. Hopefully it translates to wins sooner than later but we as fans need a little patience and less negativity. Certain areas of the roster are not good but the team has talent in lots of spots. I don't see that clemsin is that big of an obstacle to our success. The orange bastards are recruiting at a high enough level that we dont go after that many of the same recruits. And even when we do we still get some of em. The time for chicken little to yell the sky is falling is behind us. Muschamp and his stank are gone. I guess my outlook is like that of Sir Big Spur. A game rooster has no quit in him. He'll fight to the death. In 4-5 years i expect the program to be on its best footing since those 11-2 seasons and rising. There's no excuse.
