If we're being honest, they were a lot better team when LSU played them then they were down the stretch.

They suffered a ton of injuries IIRC, they were down to like 3rd and 4th stringers in some position groups.

It's not all that disingenuous. It's still the most top 10 victories at the time played and in the final poll. It's not as if this is the first time that a team has played 7 top 10 teams at the time played. It's just the first time a team won them all. It's still a great accomplishment either way.
