I would argue they explicitly can't. I guess they could just flat out ignore that? It wouldn't be the first time. We all seem to be making up the rules as we go along here.

I know they can't in Texas (thankfully). Governor already outlawed vaccine passports to preempt any frickery from the Feds. And from what I understand, the State (Texas) has the last word.

They can and will, the only thing stopping the Feds at the moment is that they need the green light from the CDC. Once that happens all this stupid shite that the sourthen states are doing wont matter.

Where do you get that? Some sort of precedent?

Not being facetious, curious where you're getting that.

Thank God the CDC is the last hurdle to clear. They haven't shown themselves to be political animals at all during this ordeal (now I AM being facetious).

That ship has sailed. Sporting events, etc. going on throughout much of the country. People are over it. If you aren’t vaccinated whatever happens is on you. If you are vaccinated either it works or there’s no point in bitching that people aren’t being vaccinated.

(Spoiler: it works. Even if you get a variant the chance of serious repercussions is tiny.)
