Well, you just stick em on your wall. The boys from a&m can help provide guidance.

So yeah, Ole Miss has won the same about of legitimate titles pre-integration as they've won post-integration. And that would be jack shite.

NCAA disagrees with you, sweetheart.

Yes. But I could have sworn "claiming titles despite losing your bowl game" was frowned upon and considered "illegitimate" in the modern era. I guess we can't give Bama shite anymore for those two separate titles they "won" in 64/73 before getting throttled in bowl games...

Are you also aware that every single program, even if they lost (or declined to play in) a bowl claims a title when they finished #1 in the AP and/or Coaches poll (s)?

State fans just hate that 1960 title

The more legitimate national championship award was chosen by the AP in those days. The AP national champion was Minnesota (as was UPI and NFF). Grantland Rice awarded Ole Miss a National Championship, which you guys claim, and is clearly disputed. Your other "claimed" titles aren't even listed.

So yeah, Ole Miss has won the same about of legitimate titles pre-integration as they've won post-integration. And that would be jack shite.

Why do you bring up integration as a Moo St fan considering the only time y'all ever won the SEC (or even a major bowl) was also when it was whites only?

Because it's the only way for them to put themselves on equal footing with Ole Miss historically.

Simple. Just use ncaa.com

Problem with that is all the polls they use before 1936 were retroactive and didn't even exist until decades later.

It's a double edged sword for UF. Sticking to integration only gives us a winning record over UGA but then gives us a losing record to FSU. D'oh!

The fact that they rush to try and discredit it just adds more validity it

I think it's legit. The FWAA was on the same level as the AP and Coaches back then. Nobody gives Ohio St shite for claiming 1961.

You’re wasting your time with that poster. You’re trying to pin her down to clarifying a rational argument, when she has made clear she injects emotions and feelings into the talk. You might as well be speaking Mandarin.

Where bammer is concerned, I just consult the 1000's of adoring pictures they took of Harvey Updyke in New Orleans and count the 19 patches he has covering his letterman jacket someone bought him in honor of his killing of Auburn's beloved live oaks.

Y'all don't claim coaches poll titles or any from before the AP and coaches polls were widely accepted?

Yeah it’s called the hard way. That’s how we count them here. Nothing is given here and always earned.

NCAA List

A&M claims 1927, and they aren’t on this list..
so you can claim whatever you want!

It's not just OU. A lot of teams dont claim anything but AP championships.

The reason being it's the only way to keep everyones recognized championships consistent.

The second teams start claiming something besides the AP titles the slope gets real slippery real fast and all of a sudden theres one title 4 different schools are all claiming because each one had a regional source that declared them the winner.

If there was some kind of universally accepted way to count them we would all use it. There's not, so many schools just agree to use the AP titles because none of those are shared and are all from the source.

It gives Ole Miss 1 in 1960 and posters get VERY butthurt about it here when it's brought up

Voting before the bowl game was dumb. Minnesota lost the bowl game, but was the national champion?

The Rebels were the only major-conference team in the nation that finished the season undefeated on the field. That’s a legit claim to a title (unlike 2003 SEC West claim).
