So Texas says that Texas said it therefore it must be true.
Do they teach critical thinking at TU?

A discussion of what killed the SWC would cause eyeballs to bleed—and no one here is interested in reading that stuff.

BTW, A&M’s best years have always ended up on probation. Please google Sherrill or RC Slocum.
Problem is there is no punishment for us paying players now.
Y’all are fricked.

The scandals tipped the scales, but the eventual demise of the SWC was imminent due to the private schools. No fan base or TV market share.

the SWC ceased to exist for many reasons.
1. Probation, ironically due to member schools turning each other in. SMU, TCU, and Houston were the biggest hits.
2. Oilers and Cowboys removing the eyes of their respective markets from college football, with regards to SMU, Rice, Houston, and TCU.
3. The Big 12 wanted those 2 markets, and could get them via Texas and the Ags.
The reality is, new money TV contracts, paired with the afore mentioned under performing schools from a viewership standpoint, killed the SWC.

Again a sip spewing falsehoods. Tell the true story.
Steve Endicott, who was an SMU assistant at the time, said in the documentary that Texas A&M "made the down payment on the car, and we helped him with it after he got to SMU."

"Our fans should know me better than that," Byrne wrote. "That never happened."
I trust Byrne to those backstabbing in the shadows sips everyday and twice on Sunday.

It is pretty telling that Texas is in the middle of every controversy regarding the conferences they have been a part of, yet is somehow not responsible for their failures.
Jealousy is a bad thing...Most of these teams that go around talking about Texas being the big bad wolf would not have ever been in a P5 conference if it weren't for Texas and OU to a lesser extent paying the bills...You think Baylor and TCU deserve to be P5?
They are 2 of the ungrateful fanbases and Admins that do the most complaining about big bad Texas, when it was Texas that propped them up. The "have nots" will always complain about the "haves"...

TCU doesn't seem to be doing much complaining.
They have been through this before.

No one is buying that. Yall can cry all yall want but the national narrative is yall ruined the Big 12 with the Longhorn Network.

Several years ago I read something in a magazine article or maybe a book excerpt about Texas behavior towards A&M in the SWC in the late 1980s. It said that once Jackie Sherrill became the coach for A&M that the Aggies started beating Texas. After a few years of losing, the Texas athletic department and other university officials had more than 80 private investigators on the payroll to spy on Texas A&M coaches, players, and athletic department tstaff. I wish I could remember where I read that. Doesn't really sound like good neighbor behavior to me by Texas.

Why didn't UT push for a Big 12 network instead of a Lone Star / Longhorn network? I call BS.
I'm seeing that many of you non Texas posters are tiring of their bullshite before they play the first down. It is possible they will get no honeymoon. And it is possible they will be reviled by the balance of the conference.
