Missouri is paying Jim Sterk plenty to walk away from his job as its athletics director. According to terms of Sterk’s “transition agreement,” obtained Wednesday by the Post-Dispatch through an open records request, Mizzou will pay Sterk his full base salary of $507,500 for each of the remaining two years on his deal, plus another $450,000 that he’s owed in incentive pay and deferred compensation, totaling $1,465,000.

Sounds like Sterk really pissed some folks off if they’re paying him to frick off.

Hope we get a competent replacement.

I think in the final analysis, Sterk is a mixed bag.

Fund raising has been phenomenal.

But his choices for HC for all sports hasn't been great. Don't forget, to replace Odom his first list sucked badly, so much so the BOC rejected it. Drink was after that.

I'll bet he objected to TX and OU, loudly.

The only thing I remember him for is cursing after Kentucky scored a touchdown on the last play of the game.

To be fair, he never got a chance to run the department the way he wanted to and the results are mixed because of that.

I thought I remembered Sterk had a list of candidates and showed it to the boosters and they told him to start over with the list. Was that really true? This was before Drinkwitz was chosen to be the next HC.

Word I hear in COMO is that Choi can't get along with anybody. Contributing factor I suspect.

The way I remembered it was Sterk had essentially his first choice ready and he went to get approval to make an offer and then he was told, no, you are going to try this again and talk to Drinkwitz again.

Blake Anderson if you believe the media. But they also protect themselves by putting that out there and those are the only people I’ve heard that from so who knows.

Choi talks a good game. He hasn’t done shite. That system is rudderless.

Just a reminder. Avoid the buzz words. Not directed to whoever I responded to. It’s a solid thread so I didn’t want to just delete it but next time I will get lazy and just delete the whole thing instead checking every post. There are other boards that are more than welcoming to it.

Dave Matter and the St. Louis media pulled Blake Anderson and the "List" out of their own arse, then tried (and suceeded) in pinning it on Sterk. That and the "Meeting" that Sundvold himself says never happened.

The STL press boys hate Sterk, he won't play ball with them. Might be another contributing factor.

If Sterk found Drink and our softball coach on his own, then isn't he semi-competent at least? Is this a good or bad thing that he is out?
Can't remember anymore if he hired Cuonzo, but I thought he hired Beiser instead of Vitello. Both would be negatives.

With Texas and Oklahoma coming in Mizzou is going need to do better and be prepared for them and other SEC as well. Mizzou got to make a much more awareness with our surroundings. Can't let it slide or else Mizzou will fall farther behind.

notsince…you are absolutely free to voice your opinions. Some of them just aren’t going to happen on this board. Frankly, I don’t even read half of the posts for context. I see certain buzz words and the post or thread is gone. So it doesn’t matter what side of an argument you are advancing. Frankly I didn’t even care enough about what you said to remember what you were talking about much less whether I agreed or disagreed with it.

The reality is that 99% of the posters are fantastic. And some I agree with. Others I don’t. There seems to be a select few who like to try to derail the conversation. Those posts will continue to be deleted, threads deleted and frankly the easier thing for me to do is just boot them. The reality is that this board has had scant moderating because most of the time it just isn’t needed.

If you don’t like it, start a thread on one of the other boards and feel free to espouse all of your opinions, including about me. In fact, feel free to start a thread on the help board asking that I be removed as admin on the Mizzou board. I’ve tried for a year so that I could feel free to express my own opinions without coming off as heavy handed. The other option if you don’t like it is to go to one of the other Mizzou sports boards.

Sterk hired Martin. Rhoades hired Bieser. He hired Drink but rumor has it that Drink wasn’t who Sterk wanted. Softball coach resigned under Rhoades but it may get have been sterk that hired the replacement. I don’t recall.
